Phyllis Woods Brown, Mountain Dulcimer
Phyllis Woods Brown comes from Cookeville, TN (originally Knoxville) and has been performing since the age of 14. She studied Music Education at Tennessee Tech University but found her passion when she was introduced to traditional music, the mountain dulcimer and the hammered dulcimer. A singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, she enjoys teaching not just the tunes and technique but also how to create arrangements so the player isn't tied to playing other people's music. Phyllis teaches hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, and clawhammer banjo via both private and group lessons online and has enjoyed being an artist and workshop instructor at many festivals over the eastern half of the United States.
